About the National Ability Center

The National Ability Center, founded in 1985, is committed to the development of lifetime skills for people of all ages and abilities by providing affordable sports and recreational experiences in a nurturing environment.  The Center offers year-round therapeutic and comprehensive programs, including alpine and cross-country skiing, bobsled, sled hockey, horseback riding, and many others.

The National Ability Center participants are of all ages and abilities, including individuals with orthopedic, spinal cord, neuromuscular, visual and hearing impairments, cognitive and developmental disabilities. The Center has increased program participation by 25% in the last year and provided over 26,500 lessons/experiences annually to 8,000 individuals.  The Center’s motto is “If I can do

 this, I can do anything” which reflects the Center’s philosophy to promote the human spirit in every individual in an environment where there are no limits to reach one’s full potential.
